We will leave on May 11th, 2001 for our journey to get Emily. | | We will leave Dallas on Friday the 11th of May for LA. There we will meet the rest of our group. HOPE has 7 families traveling together this trip. Our flight will leave LA at 12am on China Southern bound for Guangzhou, China. We will land in China at about 6AM on the 13th of May (which is the 12th in the US). We will have most of that day free in Guangzhou. Sometime the 13th we will board a new plane bound for Changsha, China in the Hunan Province. (I think that's where we'll go anyway) We will get up very early the 14th and meet our daughters!! Keep in mind that China is one day ahead of the US, so technically, Chelle will get one heck of a Mothers Day gift. We will remain in Changsha for about 5 days to take care of the necessary paperwork there. We will have appointments with the Director of the Orphanage, the Civil Affairs, and the Notary. All of these appointments may happen on the same day, or they may not. We will have some tours of the city, and possibly a tour of the orphanage.
They are shooting to get our appointment with the US Consulate on the 21st of May. That will be our last appointment in China and will leave for home on the 23rd. We will leave Guangzhou at about 8:50 on Wednesday night, and land in LA on Wednesday evening, longest day of our life!!! We will stay in LA that night and be back in Dallas on the 24th of May. Anybody that wants to meet us at the airport is MORE than welcome, just DO NOT try to hold or take Emily from Chelle and I. We will be very protective for a while. Nothing personal, we just don't want to confuse her in any way.
We are having a reception at the church on June 9th that EVERYBODY is invited too. This is our baby shower/welcome home party all in one. |
